TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA)—More than 350 units are now open at the Marquee Square Apartments, as the city's housing action plan reveals an even greater need for future housing.

The City of Tampa held a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday to celebrate the opening of the transformative mixed-income development on the site of the former Fun-Lan Drive-in Theatre on East Hillsborough Avenue.

The more than 350-unit development comes after the city completed the housing needs assessment.

According to the City of Tampa, the assessment revealed that the city has lost a significant amount of subsidized affordable units for low-income households due to expiring affordability period agreements.
