BRAINERD — This week started out very summer-like in Brainerd, featuring humid conditions and several days with temperatures in the 80s.

But more moderate temperatures — and potential bouts of rain — are expected to feature Thursday, Sept. 18, and heading into the start of autumn, which officially begins at 1:19 p.m. on Monday.

This week started with a high temperature in Brainerd of 78 degrees Sunday, followed by a high of 84 degrees Monday, 88 degrees Tuesday and 77 degrees Wednesday.

The average high temperature this time of year is 71 degrees.

But as the chances of rain moved in — as was expected late Wednesday to early Thursday — so, too, does an expected drop in the temperature.
