Blue Badge drivers face a crackdown on "misuse" with an eye-watering 700,000 people rumbled already. News today reveals that fraud investigators are warning of widespread misuse of Blue Badges.

It includes badges being faked or stolen - and drivers even using Blue Badges of family members who have passed away. Rhydian Jones, motoring expert at Confused.com car insurance, has issued a warning.

He said: “With news revealing the abuse of blue badge permits in the UK, it’s clear that more needs to be done to protect these accessible parking spaces for those who need them. Our research found that 705,310 penalty charge notices (PCNs) were issued related to Blue Badge misuse between 2022 and 2024.
