BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — North Dakota’s waterfowl hunting season opens Sept. 27 for residents and Oct. 4 for nonresidents. Swan hunting also begins Oct. 4 for licensed hunters.

Shooting hours for geese run from half an hour before sunrise to 2 p.m. daily, with extended hours until sunset on Saturdays and Wednesdays. Starting Nov. 28, full-day hunting is also allowed on Fridays and Sundays.

All hunters must carry a waterfowl habitat restoration stamp, and those age 16 and older need a federal duck stamp. Both are available electronically through the North Dakota Game and Fish Department website.
