Helicopters will be flying lower than usual in the next couple of weeks.

But there’s no cause for concern to area residents as it’s all part of ITC’s routine inspection of its high-voltage transmission structures, lines and equipment in communities across Michigan.

The inspections started Sept. 8.

Weather permitting, Macomb County residents can expect to see them Sept. 24-29 and Sep. 30-Oct. 3.

“The helicopter patrols are conducted to provide an overall status of the overhead transmission system that is operated by ITC’s Michigan operating entities, ITC Transmission and Michigan Electric Transmission Company, LLC (METC),” according to ITC’s news release.
