At 4:57 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory in effect until 9 a.m. for Warren, McKean, Huntingdon, Somerset, Bedford, Fulton and Franklin counties.

The weather service says to anticipate, "Visibility one quarter mile or less in dense fog."

"Hazardous driving conditions throughout the valleys due to greatly reduced visibility," explains the weather service. "Consider allowing extra time to reach your destination. Use the low beams of your headlights to slightly improve visibility and slow your speed, keeping plenty of braking distance between you and the vehicle ahead."
