EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - Nearly one thousand Lansing Board of Water and Light (BWL) customers are without power in East Lansing Thursday morning. The outage was first reported around 8:10 a.m. and is impacting 952 customers, according to BWL. The outage is currently anticipated to be restored by 12:15 p.m. Thursday.

The outage led to the outage of a traffic signal at the intersection of Haslett and Hagadorn roads. The City of East Lansing is warning drivers to treat it as a 4-way stop until power is restored.

MacDonald Middle School with the East Lansing Public Schools District opted to release students early due to the outage. Buses began taking children home at 9:25 a.m. and families could pick up students at 9:30 a.m. at their normal location.
