The parents of the Milford teen briefly detained by a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers last week were ordered to wear ankle monitors as they await the next check-in on their pending asylum case.
Last Friday, an ICE officer reportedly tackled 16-year-old Gustavo Enrique De Oliveira, threatened to shoot him, and detained him for about an hour.
His lawyers said ICE ordered the Milford High School student to report to its Burlington office, where officials later released him on Monday.
ICE also ordered Gustavo’s parents to come in for a check-in.
According to lawyers at the Mabel Center, which provides the family with pro bono legal support, Gustavo’s parents checked in at the ICE Field Office in Burlington on Tuesday.
However, agents told his parents to report to Frami
