SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) — While the Louisiana National Guard has been discussed for deployment in Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Mayor Arceneaux says he does not anticipate Shreveport being added to that list.
He noted the city is still working to increase officer numbers, but emphasized that crime rates are trending downward. “People in Shreveport should feel safe,” he said.
The mayor also touched on the third vote regarding a new pickleball complex in southeast Shreveport. While he called it a positive development, Arceneaux noted that the decision ultimately lies with the Caddo Parish Commission, as no city funds are involved.
