Joshua Every the reported mastermind of the 2016 armed robbery of a Kenner Raising Cane's that resulting in the brutal stabbing death of the restaurant's young manager, Taylor Friloux, pleaded guilty as charged Thursday morning, according to court officials.
Every, 32, was scheduled to stand trial Oct. 14 for first-degree murder, two counts of armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery, false imprisonment while armed with a weapon, intimidation of a witness and obstruction of justice.
In the negotiated plea, Every agreed to plead guilty in exchange for a sentence of life in prison without the benefit of probation, parole or suspension of sentence on the murder charge, court officials said.
The Jefferson Parish District Attorney's Office was seeking the death penalty.
