Southeastern Massachusetts and part of Rhode Island picked up significant, and much needed, rainfall overnight — some places received one to two inches.

Plymouth and Norwood had 1.20" while Fairhaven had 0.26” of rainfall.

Unfortunately the drought map shows that the dry conditions have spread more in the last week (taking into account all the rainfall since just this past Tuesday). So now Boston is under abnormally dry conditions and the extreme drought has expanded a bit in northern New England.

This will affect our foliage season, with it being a week or two ahead of time and quicker than normal.
