Alexandria, VA — Alexandria will soon celebrate a piece of its history that continues to inspire across generations. On Friday, September 19, Alexandria City Public Schools (ACPS) and Comcast’s Xfinity will host a special event marking the 25th anniversary of the film Remember the Titans —and the real-life 1971 state championship football team that made it possible.
The evening will bring together the past and present of Titan football. Out of 77 original players, 40 are expected to return, along with four of the five surviving coaches. Cheerleaders from the era will also join, reuniting with today’s student-athletes for an unforgettable celebration of resilience, leadership, and community spirit.
Events begin with a Titans Tailgate from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Alexandria City High Schoo
