CLARE COUNTY — Three people were arrested Tuesday evening after a vehicle chase and the discovery of methamphetamine and open alcohol containers, according to the Clare County Sheriff’s Office.

Per a Sept. 18 news release, deputies were dispatched at 6:07 p.m. Sept. 16 to a report of a man and woman arguing in a parking lot at Clare Avenue and Cranberry Lake Road in Hayes Township. Before deputies arrived, the pair left in a white 2012 Chevrolet Cruze.

Deputies located the vehicle stopped at Grant Avenue and Cranberry Lake Road and activated their emergency lights as the passenger door opened and then closed. The driver, later identified as Jacob Wyatt Willis, 24, of Gladwin, began to pull away. When deputies activated their siren, Willis accelerated and a pursuit began.
