CLARE COUNTY — A traffic stop in Harrison early Sept. 16 led to two arrests and drug-related charges, according to the Clare County Sheriff’s Office.

Per a Sept. 18 news release, deputy on patrol at 12:07 a.m. stopped a black 2001 Chevrolet Silverado on First Street near Beech Street after noticing inoperable taillights and brake lights. The driver was identified as Arthur James Wheeler, 53, of Coleman, and the passenger as Melissa Marie Kissee, 40, of Harrison.

The deputy discovered Wheeler had a warrant from the Lansing Tether Unit for absconding from parole and Kissee had a Clare County bench warrant for failure to appear. Both were taken into custody, and the deputy obtained consent to search the vehicle.
