KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Fans of art and 1990s-themed movie theaters will soon get to experience a new attraction opening in the Kansas City area this fall.
It's called Atlas9, and it all takes place inside a 46,000-square-foot fictitious movie theater complex. This "immersive art destination" is set to open to the public Sept. 25 in Kansas City, Kansas.
Visitors are invited to explore "forgotten films" of the 90s that have come to life.
Atlas9 features several installations, performers, an arcade, pizza parlor, concessions stand, jazz club and speakeasy, as well as a 240-seat auditorium.
The art experience was developed by Dimensional Innovations in partnership with Homefield, and is made possible with radio frequency identification technology, live performances by Quixotic and "multi-sens
