WATERBURY, Conn. — Beginning next Monday evening and lasting through next Wednesday, the Jewish community will celebrate its New Year, Rosh Hashanah.
In recognition of the holiday, Stop & Shop has donated $10,000 in gift cards to the Yeshiva K’tana of Waterbury , an academic institution located on South Elm Street in the city.
The donation will contribute to the opening of an in-school food pantry.
According to a release from the grocery store chain on Thursday, the Yeshiva K’tana of Waterbury Food Pantry is the first in-school food pantry located at a Yeshiva - or Jewish school - that Stop & Shop has helped open and support through its School Food Pantry Program.
