An Eritrean man is set to be deported to France after losing a High Court bid
An Eritrean man faces deportation to France tomorrow under the government's "one-in, one-out" policy, following an unsuccessful High Court challenge.
During proceedings in London, his legal representatives sought "interim relief" whilst preparing a comprehensive legal challenge to the deportation order. His lawyers argued the decision was "procedurally unfair", claiming he hadn't been afforded adequate opportunity to present evidence supporting his assertion that he was an "alleged trafficking victim".
The Home Office contested the application to temporarily halt the removal, arguing before the High Court that there existed "no serious issue to be tried".
