State Rep. Carlton Wing (R-North Little Rock) is poised to lead Arkansas PBS, pending approval from Gov. Sarah Sanders .

The Arkansas PBS Commission, a board of citizens appointed by the governor to oversee the network, nominated Wing to run the 58-year-old public broadcaster on Wednesday . Commissioner Ann Lemmer, a former Republican legislator, made the motion to nominate Wing, which passed without any “nay” votes after commissioners met in executive session for an hour.

A former sports broadcaster, Wing has represented parts of North Little Rock and Sherwood in the Arkansas House since 2017. Wing would have to resign from his seat in order to run Arkansas PBS. He announced earlier this year that he would not seek re-election in 2026.
