The Hamilton County School Board will discuss the possible reinstatement of Centerstone Thursday night, a month after narrowly voting to end a memorandum of understanding with the mental health provider.

Centerstone provided in-school counseling to students, meeting with students for 30–60-minute sessions, with parental consent, often before and after school or during electives.

Hamilton County began partnering with Centerstone annually a decade ago.

The services came at no cost to the school district and were covered by families. In addition to Hamilton County, Centerstone works with about 40 districts in Middle Tennessee, and in five other states.
