Emergency Info BC declared a magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck 410 km southwest of Bering Island near Russia’s Kamtchamka Peninsula.

The quake happened at a depth of nearly 9.6 km. Officials determined that “there is no tsunami threat to B.C.
