Police in Milford, Massachusetts, said a juvenile pedestrian was hit by a vehicle Thursday afternoon.

The crash happened at the intersection of Congress Street and West Spruce Street, the Milford Police Department said on social media shortly before 4:30 p.m. People were asked to avoid the area.

Authorities said the victim is a juvenile and a medical helicopter has been requested.

Police did not say whether the driver remained at the scene, but aerial footage showed a vehicle with its hood open near police tape.
