If you shop for pet supplies or purchase services for your feathered or furry friend, you might want to pay close attention.

Pet supply retailer Petco is closing 25 stores throughout the U.S. by the end of 2025, an almost identical number to the stores the company closed last year.

The closures come as net sales for the company dropped 2.3% to $1.5 billion in the second quarter of this year, according to Fast Company.

The chain is the second-largest pet supplier in the U.S., only behind rival PetSmart .
