ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — Two Stateline college graduates have been awarded a $30,000 scholarship from the Rotary Club, enabling them to pursue postgraduate studies overseas.
Mohammad Salem from Rockford and Kiki Fisher from Roscoe were selected by a group of 48 Rotary Clubs across Northwest Illinois.
"I'm really excited. You know, it's not all the time where you're given the opportunity to do something really great," said Salem, who graduated from Auburn High School and Yale University.
"I can't thank the Rotary Foundation enough and Rotary International and, of course, District 6420, just being is a real honor," said Fisher, a Hononegah High School and Bradley University graduate.
