DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) -- A local group brought the youth of the Miami Valley together Thursday, unifying them for one goal: to advocate for peace in our community.

Students and volunteers gathered at Liberation Park for the Youth For Peace march here in Dayton.

The march started with youth gathering at Grace United Methodist Church.

Some made signs and were talking with friends before the march started at 4 pm.

Organizers say this sparked from the disheartening deaths that have happened in the Dayton community. They say the violent summer brought the need for change.

Omega Community Development Corporation brought the march together, along with many sponsors, to inspire that change they say they needed.
