A Brockton man was arrested Tuesday for allegedly stabbing and killing a 40-year-old man in Fitchburg , prosecutors said.
Charles Ednerson, 27, is charged with assault and battery, and armed assault with intend to murder, Worcester District Attorney Joseph D. Early Jr.’s office said.
He is expected to be arraigned Wednesday in Fitchburg District Court, the statement said.
Officers were called to Chester Street shortly before 5:30 a.m. for a reported disturbance “involving a knife,” Fitchburg police said.
Officers found the man with apparent stab wounds. He was taken to an area hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The victim’s name was not released pending family notification, prosecutors said.
