EUGENE, Ore. - Technology aided in Eugene police recovering stolen vehicles over three days, according to the Eugene Police Department.

EPD officials said that, on Sept. 14, a stolen Chrysler 300 was quickly located after being reported at Roosevelt Boulevard and North Cleveland Street. An officer on patrol received an alert from the ALPR system and found the vehicle on West 5th Avenue. The driver, identified as 46-year-old Justin David Ellis, was safely arrested and transported to Lane County Jail, police said. The vehicle was returned to its owner.

On Sept. 15, a man in his 90s reported his Lexus ES stolen from his driveway in the West 27th Place area. The ALPR system flagged the vehicle on Sept. 17, and officers found it at the Albertsons parking lot on West 18th Avenue. The car was u
