Forest officials said that growth has been minimal, and crews are actively using Unmanned Aircraft Systems with infrared technology to identify and extinguish hot spots. The fire is currently burning 32,366 acres and is at 41% containment, Forest Service officials said. Mechanical fuel treatments have been completed on the northern and western edges of the fire, allowing crews to focus on patrol and mop-up operations. On the eastern and southern sides, efforts continue to strengthen control lines along Forest Road 21.
