HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The MidCity District in Huntsville is set for significant changes as the city approves a redesign of Old Monrovia Road. The transformation aims to enhance safety and accessibility in the growing area.
RCP Companies, the developer behind MidCity, says the plan involves reducing the current five-lane road to two lanes, adding a median, street parking, and improving the connection between MidCity District and MidCity Plaza Shopping Center. The goal is to create a more pedestrian-friendly environment.
"It’ll make the area safer, slowering traffic, better pedestrian crossing and more visibility. It’ll enhance the quality of life for everyone in that area by introducing green space and walkable streets. It will also strengthen the local businesses in that area," said Nadia N
