PITTSBURGH (WTAJ) -- The Steelers may be getting closer and closer to the return of first round pick Derrick Harmon who practiced for the second-straight day.
Harmon, who was injured during the team's preseason loss to the Buccaneers, hadn't practiced in a month when he returned to the field Wednesday. The Steelers could use the 300+ pound tackle to help sure up the rush defense, which has allowed 149.5 yards-per-game in the first two contests.
Harmon's status is the lone positive news on the injury report. For the second straight day, Joey Porter Jr., and Deshon Elliot sat out, and pass rusher Alex Highsmith has already been ruled out Sunday. While the Steelers have avoided blaming injuries for their slow start, its played a part in Pittsburgh's defensive struggles.
