The 16-story west tower will serve heart and vascular patients.
The new space is highlighted by private patient rooms, a surgical recovery floor and additional intensive care unit space. The hospital says the new space should allow 100 more patients to receive care there.
The hospital said the whole design was created with families in mind, offering rest and seating areas for patients’ loved ones.
Barnes-Jewish President Dr. John Lynch said the new facility allows the hospital to treat people with the most complex needs.
