SLATE HILL – Supporters of Hall of Fame Minisink Valley softball coach Bruce Guyette began their push to attempt to keep him in the dugout at Thursday night’s school board meeting.

“There has never been a coach who has his team more fundamentally prepared than Bruce Guyette, and that includes my five years in professional baseball,” said former Minisink Valley guidance counselor Brian Golden, who pitched in the St. Louis Cardinals organization in the 1980s. “Bruce is a man of character, and I have never heard him say anything unprofessional. There have never been any issues with his conduct, and after I heard this, I asked some students, and they said they never had an issue with him.”
