(FOX40.COM) — The Calavera County Sheriff's Office arrested an armed person on Wednesday who was threatening firefighters in Murphys.

Around 6:40 a.m., deputies were dispatched to Church Street, where they located the suspect, Kevin Bradley Goff, 56. Authorities said that deputies arrested Goff without incident while detectives began an investigation.

Deputies learned from witnesses that Goff approached firefighters, who were inspecting a residential fire that occurred Tuesday night. The sheriff's office said that Goff showed a knife and made a stabbing motion toward the firefighters after personnel asked if he needed assistance.
