A man will face court following an investigation into alleged domestic violence (DV) offences in Port Stephens.

Officers attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were called to a motel on the Pacific Highway, at Heatherbrae, about 8pm on Thursday 21 August.

It followed reports of a DV-related incident.

At the scene, they were told a woman’s clothing had allegedly been placed into a bathtub and destroyed by a male known to her.

Officers then began inquiries to locate the male in question.

Following further investigations, police also established the man had intimidated the woman and breached an AVO on several occasions since Monday 11 August.
