Residents are being encouraged to have their say on a new town park, which will provide green space and a children’s playground in Cardiff.

Lake Macquarie City Council is calling for public feedback on two options for the 2,840sqm Veronica Street site.

The first possibility comprises a circular park with an adjoining playground.

However, the second includes the same play area but boasts a rectangular common.

Lake Macquarie City mayor Adam Shultz said community responses would also shape the type of playground equipment installed at the site.

“Our Parks and Playground Strategy identifies the need for something like this in Cardiff, in a central position, close to homes and the suburb’s business centre,” he explained.
