ORANGEBURG COUNTY, S.C. — The Orangeburg County School District (OCSD) celebrated the construction progress of the new Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School building by hosting a Topping Off Beam ceremony on Thursday.

A structural beam that was signed by dozens of community members was added above the entrance to the school, symbolizing the school's growing future.

The new building will feature modern academic wings, technical education labs, and state-of-the-art athletic and performing arts facilities.

"It means a lot. I think when we move into the new school, it will help students finish strong and be more positive," said Raleigh Wright, junior class president at the current Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.
