BROWNSVILLE, Texas (ValleyCentral) — Animal care professionals and advocates on Wednesday attended the inaugural Paws Forward RGV Animal Care Summit.
This event focused on ways to improve animal welfare in the Rio Grande Valley.
"One of the biggest things our public can do is to support your local animal shelters, your local animal rescue groups, and nonprofits. If you aren't able to financially contribute, definitely volunteer. All those animals need enrichment and care," said Dr. Antonio L. Caldwell, Deputy Director of Animal Services at Brownsville Animal Regulation Care Center.
Caldwell added that it's time to get innovative, think outside the box, for the future of the local communities.
