This playoff chase is starting to get a lot more uncomfortable than it should have been for the Red Sox .

Boston entered the week still holding one of the three American League Wild Card spots, but the pursuing field is suddenly much closer. The Guardians in particular are turning up the heat, ending Monday night just two games behind the Red Sox in the loss column.
