WALDORF, Md. — The Charles County Sheriff’s Office says it’s investigating after shots were reportedly fired in a parking lot outside a football game at St. Charles High School.

Investigators say a group of young people was gathered at the game, but they left before the game ended.

They say the gunshots were heard shortly after the youths left. After the incident, the officers canvassed the area. No one was injured, but one vehicle was damaged.

Violence at high school football games has not been unknown in the DMV in recent weeks.

Last week, D.C. issued new guidelines for conduct at high school football games after a stabbing at a game at Archbishop Carroll High School in Northeast.
