MURRAY – Murray State University celebrated its centennial in 2022, but 2025 is another special year because it is the 100th anniversary of the establishment of agriculture classes on campus.

The Hutson School of Agriculture and the Murray-Calloway County Chamber of Commerce held the fifth Breakfast on the Farm Thursday, with Hutson Dean Dr. Brian Parr acting as the keynote speaker. Weather permitting, the breakfast is always held on the Stanley and Mabel Pullen Farm, which is also home to the Doran Arboretum, and Parr said there is no better location to celebrate the beginnings of postsecondary agricultural education in Murray.
