Some clients of Hamilton's Barton-Tiffany outdoor shelter think the facility is "not working" as a safe place to stay while they're unhoused.

Christopher Edwards has been staying there since February with his dog, Bosco.

He said at first, when the shelter didn't have as many people, "it was good," but problems started once it started to fill up.

The site, which opened in February amid controversy and a months-long delay, can shelter up to 80 people in 40 tiny cabins. The shelter prioritizes couples and people with pets, but also serves people who are on their own.

While Good Shepherd, the non-profit that runs the site, said it receives positive feedback from residents, CBC spoke to three people who are staying at the shelter, including Edwards, who had concerns.
