Morrisons is bringing artificial intelligence (AI) to one of its stores, with the technology being installed in their shopping trolleys.
After it's introduced in early 2026, the hope is that it will be deployed across its 500 locations across the UK.
The internet of things continues to expand its sphere of influence, as these trolleys will enable shoppers to scan products whilst browsing.
They will also monitor their accumulating spend in real time, and speed up the payment process, similar to the handheld scanners currently available in UK supermarkets such as Tesco .
Morrisons said the trolleys will also boast interactive displays, integrated weighing systems, and AI-driven detection technology.
