FARMINGTON, Conn. — After a board of education meeting on Monday night, where some board members were called on to step down, parents in Farmington believe that elected officials involved in students’ education should not post their political beliefs on social media.
Farmington resident Kate Gorman said she believed that elected officials are held to a higher standard and should act accordingly.
"I agree with the First Amendment, but you should not be sharing your public opinion on Facebook or any social media unless you're ready to take the repercussions with it," Gorman said.
Recently, many people are facing backlash regarding their social media posts, including board of education members in East Haddam and Farmington.
