(Sioux Falls, SD) — South Dakota’s Attorney General says investigators have busted a scheme to smuggle drugs into the state penitentiary. A Minnehaha County grand jury indicted five people, including a former corrections officer, two inmates, and two women from outside the prison system. The charges cover meth, synthetic marijuana, and contraband like cell phones and vape pens. Marty Jackley says the indictments should send a strong message that smuggling drugs into prison will bring serious consequences.
