NORFOLK — Carnival Cruise Lines recently announced that Norfolk will serve as home port for Carnival Freedom beginning in May 2027.

Based at the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center in Norfolk, the Carnival Freedom will replace the currently operating Carnival Sunshine. Freedom’s first voyage from Norfolk is set to take place on May 23, 2027.

“Carnival’s commitment to Norfolk brings more travel options for our passengers, draws visitors from across the East Coast, and strengthens our position as a key player in the cruise market,” said Stephen E. Kirkland, Director of Nauticus.

Ports of call available from Norfolk include the Bahamas, Bimini, Bermuda, and Grand Turk. The ship will also sail to Halifax, Sydney, Saint John, and Charlottetown, Canada.
