CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) - The Iowa Mission of Mercy free dental clinic is back in eastern Iowa, drawing people to Coralville this year.
The clinic will be held Friday and Saturday starting at 6 a.m. People can get a variety of free services, from basic check-ups to fillings.
“We have no limitations on where you’re from, who you are, what you speak, anything like that,” Dr. Dick Hettinger, one of the lead organizers, said.
While the event is totally free, with hundreds of workers on site ready to help, people will be served on a first-come-first-serve basis. Dozens of people camped overnight, through hours of rain, to secure early spots in line.
Throughout the event more than $1 million of dental service will be provided.
