The Lakota West Firebirds make the short trip west to Fairfield Alumni Stadium Friday night for a key Greater Miami Conference matchup with rival Fairfield .

Both teams enter with 2-2 records as Fairfield’s new head coach John Roden looks to orchestrate a turnaround from last season’s lopsided 50-14 defeat at the hands of the Firebirds.

Fairfield enters off an impressive 34-9 victory over Sycamore , led by senior quarterback Dominic Back who has shown promising command of Roden’s new system.

Lakota West aims to bounce back after stumbling at home against Princeton 27-10 last week. Junior quarterback Jackson Smith connected with senior wide receiver Tyson Davis on a 21-yard strike in the Firebirds’ lone trip to the end zone.
