The London Beefeaters’ 50th anniversary celebration this weekend isn’t only about honouring the past and bringing back old memories.

It’s a chance to earn another home game.

The team owns a 4-1 record and sits second in the Ontario Football Conference heading into their tilt against the Quinte Skyhawks Saturday at 3 p.m. at City Wide Sports Park. They finish with road games at St. Clair Sept. 27 and at Ottawa Oct. 4.

“If we go 2-1 over the last three weeks, we get a home playoff game,” Beefs head coach Matt Snyder said. “But if we lose to Quinte, it’s all for naught. It’s likely you have to go to St. Clair for the final (against the currently 6-0 defending champion Saints) and our whole mission is to get there and give us a one-game chance to win.
