MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Waleed Javaid, M.D., M.B.A., M.S., has joined WVU Hospitals (WVUH) — which includes WVU Medicine’s J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital and WVU Medicine Children’s in Morgantown and Fairmont Medical Center as well as their affiliated outpatient clinics — as its first dedicated chief quality officer.

Dr. Javaid came to WVUH from Mount Sinai Health System in New York, where he served as the director of Infection Prevention for Mount Sinai Downtown and professor of medicine in the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

Javaid earned his medical degree from Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan and completed an M.B.A. from the SC Johnson Graduate School of Management and M.S. in healthcare leadership from the Weill Cornell Graduate School of Medical Sciences. He is boar
