CHARLESTON (WV News) — Governor Patrick Morrisey announced the appointments of two West Virginians to leadership positions on Friday.
Raleigh County Commissioner Greg Duckworth, who was elected to serve as interim chair of the West Virginia First Foundation’s board of directors on Thursday , was reappointed to a second term on the foundation's board.
A 26-year veteran of the West Virginia State Police, Duckworth served in some of the communities hardest hit by substance abuse, including McDowell, Wyoming, Boone, Raleigh, Nicholas, and Fayette counties. Rising through the ranks as trooper, detachment commander, and district commander, he gained unique insight into the challenges and human toll of the epidemic.
