ASHBURN, Va. — Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels is officially out for Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders. Head coach Dan Quinn made the announcement on Friday.
"On the field, we decided to start Marcus [Mariota]," Quinn confirmed. "We said at the beginning we were going to be very diligent about [Daniels'] return to play and make sure we're not missing any steps. We're going to be smart, not just fast."
Marcus Mariota will get his first start as a member of the Commanders, after coming into three games Daniels started in 2024.
